The Tamor Khola bridge at Lalbudhat, which connects Tehrathum and Panchthar districts, is moving toward revival after sitting stalled for nearly a decade and a half, Infrastructure Development Minister Sunil Lamsal said in an October 3, 2026 update.
The project contract was signed on 2069 Ashadh 26 (July 10, 2012). The minister said the main problem lay in the original DPR and design. Although reports on the problems were submitted, no firm technical solution was provided for a long time, and the project turned sick.
On 2083 Ashoj 7 (September 23, 2026), a joint meeting at the Ministry of Infrastructure Development brought together the construction contractor, the consultant, and the Bridge Division of the Department of Roads to push the problems toward resolution, the minister said. The ministry has facilitated a process in which the consultant that prepared the original DPR will review the technical problem and propose the needed solution.
With the long-pending technical issues now moving toward a solution, the minister said the base is set to speed up construction again. The main remaining work is the installation of the steel truss, and the target is to complete the project by the end of 2083 (mid-April 2027).
