Digital Forensic Lab renovation at the Nepal Police Headquarters in Naksal, Kathmandu is set to move ahead after Manaslu Nirman Sewa was selected as the contractor for the works.
The Physical Infrastructure Directorate of the Nepal Police Headquarters published a letter of intent on 15 October 2026, naming Manaslu Nirman Sewa of Kushadevi-2, Panauti in Kavrepalanchok district as the successful bidder. The notice has been issued under Section 27(2) of the Public Procurement Act, 2063, which requires the procuring body to announce its intention to award before the contract is signed.
Digital Forensic Lab Contract Details
The work, titled Renovation and Furnishing Works of Digital Forensic Lab, carries the contract identification number NPHQ/SQ/2083-06/DFL1. The procurement began with a sealed quotation notice published in Gorkhapatra on 23 September 2026, inviting eligible firms to submit their quotations for the lab upgrade.
According to the letter of intent, the accepted bid amount stands at Rs 15,57,863.06, excluding VAT and the provisional sum. The evaluation identified the offer from the construction firm based in Panauti as the successful one among the quotations received.
A digital forensic laboratory is a critical asset for modern law enforcement, providing investigators with dedicated space and equipment to extract, preserve and analyse digital evidence from computers, mobile phones and other electronic devices. The renovation and furnishing of the Naksal facility is expected to strengthen the technical working conditions for the police digital investigation teams.
With the letter of intent now public, the directorate will proceed toward signing the formal contract agreement with the selected builder, after which the renovation works can begin at the headquarters premises in Naksal.
